Brandon has been a lifelong athlete. He has competed in the national championship ranks of BMX, Alpine ski racing as well as the Spartan World Championships at the ultra distance. Brandon is passionate about lifting pretty much anything heavy, and running in the mountains. He was first introduced to the gym by his father in 1989 and has had a love affair with it ever since. While a runner his entire life, he mostly ran as a way of staying in shape for his other pursuits. The real passion for running came later in life in 2008 when he set his sights on a lifelong goal of finishing the Western States 100. While quite naïve, upon learning one could not just sign up for the race he made a plan to get qualified and into the yearly lottery. The training and community he found that went into pursuit of that goal changed his life. Long days in the mountains chasing friends around new and old trails became weekly endeavors. Volunteering and soaking up as much knowledge about the sport of Ultrarunning were paramount in him not only completing Western States in 2012 but becoming a coach in later that year. 2014 became the year he finally committed making his passions his career and DeyFit was formed.
